Pitch Digital Communications Inc. is a boutique web design and communications agency based in Calgary, Alberta — and we’ve been at this since 2004. Long enough to know what works, and confident enough to say so. Our principals are involved in every project, from the first conversation to the final detail.

A client once asked us, half-jokingly, how we stay in business when what we design doesn’t go out of fashion. We take that as the highest compliment.

WEB DESIGN & DEVELOPMENT
From the first wireframe to long after launch, Pitch designs and builds with intention — user experience and interface design, custom development, CMS integration, multilingual architecture, accessibility, and ongoing support. We’re comfortable with complexity — multi-audience navigation, WordPress security hardening, security in high-stakes environments, builds that have to work for everyone — and we never let it show in the finished work. Just work that lasts. Full stop.

BRANDING & IDENTITY
This is where it all begins. Pitch provides brand strategy, visual identity, logo design, corporate colour palette development, brand guidelines, and brand refresh — we build the foundation that everything else stands on.

ACCESSIBILITY
Pitch designs and builds to WCAG 2.1 AA and WCAG 2.2 AA — not as a checkbox, but as a standard we hold ourselves to from the first wireframe. Every accessible site we build is manually tested, not just scanned. Because the difference between compliant and truly accessible is where the real work happens.

EMERGENCY & CRISIS COMMUNICATIONS
When something goes wrong, the last thing you need is to figure out how to communicate. Pitch helps organizations prepare before they need to — dedicated dark sites and emergency websites, crisis response frameworks, and communications materials that are ready when it matters most. Think of a dark site as a pre-built crisis home base — dormant until the moment it’s needed.

ART DIRECTION & GRAPHIC DESIGN

Project Showcase

CP Connecting Canada since 1881

This one was an honour. And it’s close to our hearts.

Pitch conceived, art directed, and built a living digital archive of Canadian railway history for Canadian Pacific Railway — now Canadian Pacific Kansas City (CPKC). The content was researched and sourced by Pitch, drawing from CP’s own collection and the Glenbow Museum archives. A chance to work with the archives of one of Canada’s most storied institutions — historical photography, railway heritage, the kind of Canadiana that deserves to be preserved and celebrated, and that most people never get to see.

At the heart of the site is an interactive timeline spanning five chapters — building the railway, tourism and recreation, immigration and settlement, war efforts, and innovation — supported by a brief history, a dedicated logo evolution section, and a resource for students. Hundreds of historical photographs. Contextual essays. A project that took us deep into the archives and didn’t let go.

The site exists in English and French. What started as a project to mark Canada’s 150th anniversary became CP’s permanent history microsite — embraced by the public and still growing. It’s still going. And it’s still our favourite.
